I'm currently Deputy Division Chief at the Western Hemisphere Department of the International Monetary Fund.

I joined the IMF in 2004 and, since then, I have worked in multiple areas including:

• Conducting surveillance and program work in various country teams (Chile, Romania, Uruguay, Turkey, Indonesia)

• Contributing to the development of IMF credit facilities

• Reviewing of IMF programs

• Producing analytical work for the Western Hemisphere's Regional Economic Outlook

• Co-leading the production of the External Sector Report on Global Imbalances at the Research Department

• Assessing systemic economies' external positions and exchange rates.

I currently lead the country team for Uruguay.

My research in recent years has focused on foreign exchange intervention, exchange rates, capital flows and external adjustment.

Before joining the IMF, I was professor at National University of Tucumán (Argentina).
